Meet the Pastor: Our Vision for a Bilingual Community in Paris

At the heart of any church is its leadership, and at Potters House Paris, we are blessed to have a pastoral team with a deep passion for both people and God. Our church was founded on the vision of creating a bilingual, multicultural space where individuals from different backgrounds can come together to worship, grow in their faith, and form genuine relationships. Today, we’d like to introduce you to our pastor and share more about the vision that drives our bilingual church in Paris.

A Heart for Paris and Its People

Our pastor, Jose Santos, has lived and worked in various countries before planting a church in Paris, he understands the unique challenges and joys of life in a multicultural city. As a leader, he is committed to building a faith community that embraces diversity and welcomes people from all walks of life—whether they’re local Parisians, expats, or travellers passing through the city.

From the Pastor:

"Paris is such a dynamic, global city, and we want our church to reflect that. We believe that the message of the Gospel is universal, and our goal is to create a space where people can encounter God, no matter what language they speak or where they come from."

The Vision: A Bilingual, Multicultural Church

The vision behind Potters House Paris is simple but powerful: to be a church where both French and English speakers can worship together, grow in their faith, and serve the city of Paris. Our bilingual services are designed to bridge language barriers and create a truly inclusive atmosphere where everyone can feel at home.

Why Bilingual Worship?

For Pastor Jose, bilingual worship isn’t just about language—it’s about creating a community where people from different cultural and linguistic backgrounds can come together in unity. By offering services in both English and French, we aim to make worship accessible to both locals and internationals, while also encouraging cross-cultural understanding and connection.

From the Pastor:

"One of the things I love most about our church is seeing how people from different backgrounds can come together and worship as one body. It's a glimpse of what the kingdom of God looks like—people from every nation and language, united in faith."

A Place of Belonging for Expats and Locals Alike

One of the unique aspects of our church is its ability to bring together both expats and locals. In a city like Paris, where many people feel disconnected from their home cultures or from the local community, we strive to create a space where everyone can feel a sense of belonging. Whether you’re an expat looking for a church home in a new city or a local Parisian seeking a fresh perspective on faith, our doors are open to you.

From the Pastor:

"As someone who has lived abroad, I know how important it is to find a community where you can feel at home. At Potters House Paris, we want to be that home for people in Paris—whether you’ve been here your whole life or you just arrived yesterday."

The Role of Community in Our Church

Building community is at the core of what we do at Potters House Paris. We believe that church is more than just a place to attend services; it’s a family where people can grow together, support each other, and serve those around them. Our pastor has a deep commitment to fostering relationships within the church and creating opportunities for people to connect on a deeper level.

From the Pastor:

"One of our priorities as a church is to build genuine relationships. We want people to feel known and loved, and that happens through small groups, Bible studies, and community events where we can share life together."

A Vision for Serving Paris

Our church’s vision doesn’t stop at our doors. We believe that as a faith community, we are called to serve the city of Paris and make a positive impact in the lives of those around us. Under Pastor Jose’s leadership, we are actively involved in various outreach efforts, from supporting local organisations to organising community service projects.

From the Pastor:

"Paris is an incredible city, but like any place, it has its struggles. As a church, we feel called to be the hands and feet of Jesus in this city—to serve those in need, to care for the lonely, and to bring hope to the places that need it most."

Looking Ahead: The Future of Potters House Paris

As Potters House Paris continues to grow, our pastor’s vision for the future is one of continued expansion, deeper community, and greater impact. We are excited to see how God will continue to use our church to reach both French and English-speaking people in Paris, and we invite you to be a part of that journey.

From the Pastor:

"We believe that God has great things in store for our church and for the city of Paris. Our hope is that Potters House Paris will continue to be a place where people can encounter the love of God, no matter who they are or where they come from."
